Vintage Porsche Undergoes Ultimate Restoration

Isringhausen Porsche proudly presents the remarkable tale of a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, the legendary vehicle that introduced the iconic RS (Racing Sport) designation.

In 2004, this extraordinary car embarked on a remarkable journey to the Porsche Classic Department at the Werk 1 factory in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, its birthplace in 1973. The skilled craftsmen at Werk 1 meticulously disassembled the entire car, methodically scrutinizing and restoring each and every part to immaculate condition. The original matching engine and gearbox were rebuilt to factory specifications, retaining their authentic blocks and casings. Adorned in its classic White hue with red wheels and script, this RS was meticulously restored to its exact original specifications, resembling its pristine condition when first delivered.

This exceptional restoration is accompanied by a wealth of documentation, including an extensive collection of photographs, a Porsche press release, a letter from the Classic Center to the owner, a certification plaque in the trunk, and a commemorative Luxemburg postal stamp. The car's complete history, spanning from 1973 through its restoration to the present day, is also available. Following the restoration in 2006, the car's fastidious owner drove it a mere 2563 miles over 18 years, preserving its pristine condition.

The discerning engineer who commissioned this remarkable restoration has been the sole owner of this remarkable vehicle since its restoration until our acquisition in early June of 2024. This exquisite piece of automotive history now graces our showroom floor. Accompanying the car are articles from Christopherous and Porsche Club magazines, offering insights into this rare restoration and the passionate owner from Luxemburg.

We are thrilled to share this exceptional opportunity with the next Porsche enthusiast. We firmly believe that this is the only Carrera RS to have undergone a complete restoration at the Porsche Classic Center in Stuttgart, making it an unparalleled treasure for discerning collectors and enthusiasts alike.
